About Julie Kanapaux

Our perception of space forms our experience. My artwork expresses the connecting thread that both unifies and separates that space. Beginning as intuitive and expressive organic forms, the imagery seeks to extrude order and balance from natural chaos.

Kan Kan Studios, LLC is led by renowned artist and owner Julie Kanapaux. Her unique fusion of graphic and fine art has produced inspiring works that tie physical spaces together and promote creativity.

Kanapaux earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting with a Minor in Photography at the Ringling College of Art and Design, in Sarasota, Florida, where she was a Trustee Scholar and the recipient of the school’s prestigious Presidential Sculpture Award. She has created several public artworks including a multi-story mural titled Momentum for the Alfred R. Goldstein Library at Ringling College of Art and Design (2017), and Beachcomber’s Sequence, in Pompano Beach, Florida (2018). She has been the recipient of several awards and has participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions.

Julie is publicly recognized as one of Sarasota’s top artists and has worked as an art consultant, graphic designer, illustrator, and adjunct faculty member at Ringling College of Art and Design. She is also a member of the artist collective SARTQ.
