Meet Julie Kanapaux

"Our perception of space forms our experience. My artwork expresses the connecting thread that both unifies and separates that space. Beginning as intuitive and expressive organic forms, the imagery seeks to extrude order and balance from natural chaos."

Kan Kan Studios is led by renowned artist and owner Julie Kanapaux. Her unique fusion of graphic and fine art has produced inspiring works that tie physical spaces together and promote creativity.

Kanapaux earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a Minor in Photography at Ringling College of Art and Design, where she was a Trustee Scholar and recipient of the Presidential Sculpture Award. She has created several public artworks including a multi-story mural titled Momentum for the Goldstein Library at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL (2017), and Crescendo in Sarasota Bay (2022). She has been included in more than fifty individual and group exhibitions.

In addition to her artistic practice, Julie has extensive experience as a graphic designer, illustrator, and photographer. She is the Co-Director of the SARTQ Artist Collective and the owner of Kan Kan Studios. Currently, she lives in Osprey, FL, with her family and serves as a full-time professor at Ringling College of Art and Design.
